Chronic back pain

!±8± Chronic back pain

I had three doctors were different. The car accident in 1990 left me with terrible back pain. The only option offered to me was prescription medication. For three years I lived with chronic pain - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The drugs helped relieve some of the problems, but I had to stop taking them when I started having stomach pain - which is often worse than the pain itself. Once again I thought: "This can not be the only choice we must.be another alternative. "

Only three years later that I heard about magnetic therapy from a friend and I decided to try it. With nothing to lose, I have a magnetic pad on my back during the day and slept on a magnetic mattress every night. To my surprise, after two weeks my back felt much better. After a few months, the pain was completely gone!

My wife, who had a back problem caused by herniated discs woke up every morning with pain and stiffness. Not long afterSleeping on a magnetic pad started to fall, rigidity, and she was soon waking up pain-free as well.

Although initially skeptical, I was amazed at the effectiveness of magnetic therapy, and began to study intensely the field of biomagnetics. Since my first experience I had the pleasure of helping many people achieve similar results, improving the quality of life of chronic diseases and injuries.

Now I would like to take this opportunity tothose who may suffer from chronic back pain, and tell you how to better prevent.

Back pain is the number one form of pain, which represents people in the United States to have 20% of all injuries and illnesses experienced in the working world, and is responsible for up to $ 50 billion in diagnosis and care every year [1]. The National Institutes of Health estimates that 4 out of 5 Americans back pain at some point in their lives. It's not a pretty picture from anyPoint of view.

Most back pain occurs in the lumbar spine [2]. Here is the largest part of your body, based on the lowest 5 of 24 vertebrae (bones), who asked the spine. Given all the other muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves and large plates, which are also a part of, or in connection with the spine, it's no surprise that there are many ways to damage your back, turning and bend [3].

Pain is considered chronic if it lasts is recurrent, morethree months, and can apparently be stimulated by a small movement (for whatever reason) [4]. In the 21 Century we realize that drugs and surgery is not always the answer for the treatment of chronic pain or other musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.

The future is an integrated approach to improve the healing ability of the body by non-invasive, safe treatment. Acupuncture, massage, osteopathy and chiropractic care and some physical therapyThe exercises are only a few options to help with back pain.

Following an individualistic approach to treatment is the key. A special treatment that may work for one person, but not so good for others. It is often necessary to begin to feel a combination of treatments to try to significant improvements.

For the real back injury and recovery of disease to reduce pain and inflammation, restoring proper function and strength and further injury prevented [4]. In this sense,Let's talk about how magnetic therapy can help.

One of the major benefits of magnetic therapy is the reduction of inflammation. Localized inflammation following an injury is a natural reaction of protection. It creates an imbalance in sodium and potassium ions (charged particles) concentrations at the cellular level. As a result, fluid accumulates in the cells, so that the damaged tissue to become inflamed. (Thinking about it, as retaining water after eating salty food.)

If there is noIntervention, the body eventually heal itself and reduce inflammation. However, this process can be very slow and painful. For this reason, treatments that are needed to safely accelerate the process, particularly in the case of chronic diseases such as arthritis.

The application of a bio-north magnetic field safely in equilibrium electrochemical ion concentrations. Excess fluid and toxins from the cells washed and removed through the lymphatic system. As a result, healing timeis often reduced by as much as 50%.

Since major nerve bundles pass through the spine, it is obvious why back pain is so common. The pain is caused by an electrochemical signal to the brain. The normal electric potential of a neuron (nerve cell) is 70 mV when in a resting state. For injuries, a neuron has a positive charge due to a change in the balance of chemical ions. This triggers a pain signal is sent to the brain.

The application of a bio-north (negative) magnetic fieldlowers the electrical potential of a neuron, an approximation of its normal negative state. Consequently, the pain signal decreases rapidly, and in most cases, it will eventually stop.

Another important goal when recovering from back injuries is restoring mobility. Magnetic therapy helps relax muscle tissue, increasing flexibility and reducing the incidence of muscle cramps.

About four years ago, researchers in Italy tested the effects of a magnetic system based on moreVolunteers. Each person was either driving or while sitting in a computer station for long periods, with and without the magnetic system.

"The results showed a decrease in myoelectric (neuron) activity both at shoulder and lumbar region of the magnet-based sitting for prolonged seated work tasks ... The system appears to be an effective tool to prevent muscle contractures after prolonged positions are limited "[5].

Because it can be sodifficult and painful to move, many people feel that they need to spend a few days after his back injury. But did you know that bed rest should really be minimized or avoided? According to David Lehrman, MD (chief of orthopedic surgery at St. Francis Hospital and founder of the Lehrman Back Center in Miami, FL) "for each week of bed rest, it takes two weeks to rehabilitate" [3].

A 1995 study in Helsinki, Finland found that among 186 people who were doing their dailyActivities as tolerated had greater flexibility and less pain than those who underwent exercise backmobilizing. * * Slower recovery in people who have had two days of bed rest [6] as prescribed.

While an interesting fact, is what some of us can complain. Remember, we are still asleep and give our body a chance to heal and recover. When I discovered years ago, sleeping on magnetic mattress is the right speed the healing process and can significantlyReduce chronic pain over time.

Already in 1990, to 12 months of clinical trials on the effects of magnetic mattress pads was conducted in Tokyo, Japan. The study, led by Dr. Kazuo Shimodaira involved, 431 people. 375 of them received full-sized magnetic pads and the remaining subjects received sham mattress pads for control. (Each magnetic pad contained 124 permanent ferrite magnets with a field of 750 950 gauss.)

Here are the results of the annual review:

On average, 53.3% ofsubjects recognized the effect of magnetic mattress within 3 days and more than 70% within 5 days. What's more is that a thorough examination was conducted on side effects and have not been found [7].

(Note:. The magnetic mattress pads used in this study did not produce very strong magnetic fields as the highest magnetic fields are more effective, a higher energy pad would improve results further.)

Support for these results when comparing the 1997 Johns Hopkins pain center treatment studyMagnetic field therapy in chronic pain therapy with a placebo. It was found that people with the magnetic therapy showed a significant improvement, while the placebo group improved only minimally. Again, there were side effects detected [8].

Since the vast majority of adults is not in a "perfect", the risk of back injury is greatly increased for them.

If you are out of form and schedule a task, lifting, bending and twisting required, it is a good ideaSteps to help prevent injury in the first place possible. Magnetic field therapy is a great way to achieve this goal.

There are three main actions for the use of magnetic therapy for prevention. The first two are its ability to stimulate circulation and relax muscles. The effects are similar to warming up and stretching before a hard training session. It 'really the third action that sets magnetic therapy apart from anything else, but. Magnetic therapy can effectivelyControlling the flow of energy along the meridians of the body (energy channels).

Placing a magnetic pad or support surface of the body's energy channels directly to that location. More energy, improved circulation combined, significantly increased the time that you try before muscle fatigue sets in. In turn, reduces the likelihood of muscle fatigue.

The combination of relaxation, improve circulation of blood and muscle painMagnetic therapy is ideal for the treatment of back pain and prevent further injury. While effective on its own, magnetic therapy is also an excellent complement to other treatments. If chiropractic, acupuncture, therapeutic massage, or some other method, can help improve treatment and extend the positive results.

The next time you travel, use a high-energy magnetic support or back. This is a simple and effective way to get all day with less pain and continuea wider range of motion. Trust me. Your back will thank you!

TIPS AND ADVICE For a Healthy Back

The National Institutes of Health offersGuidelines for maintaining a healthy back. After these and some other tips to increase your chances of preventing further injuries, strengthening the back muscles.

When standing:

o Keep the weight evenly balanced on your feet. It supports the weight on your back easily when curvature is reduced.

o Do not splash out when standing or sitting. (Keep your hands lightly clasped behind his back. This improves your posture for the neck, shoulders and upper back, and reducedMuscle tension.)

or wear comfortable, flat shoes.

Seat:

o Ensure that the working surface is at a comfortable height for you.

or Sit on a chair with back good and proper position / height for the task. (Use a pillow, rolled towel or lumbar cushion if needed.)

Switch sitting positions often and stretch at regular intervals, a short walk or light, to reduce tension and recirculation.

o If you sit for long periods, must restThe feet on a low stool or a stack of books.

When lifting:

Search or not to lift heavy objects for you!

o Pull in your abdominal muscles, keep your head down and in line with your back straight and lift with your legs.

o Keep the object close to your body.

or not twist when lifting.

Do not carry or an object in one hand, if you lean to one side. (With both hands, or bring another element to distribute the load.)

Exercise:

or AlwaysHeating and stretching before exercise or other strenuous activity.

o After a long period of inactivity, begin a program of regular exercise lowimpact. (Ask a doctor or an orthopedist for recommended exercises for his age and needs.)

bicycle or on foot speed, swimming or stationary for 30 minutes per day to increase muscle strength and flexibility.

or Yoga or Tai Chi can help stretch and strengthen muscles and improve posture.

DailyHabits:

o Keep the right nutrition and diet to reduce and prevent obesity (especially around the waist area).

o If you smoke, quit. Smoking reduces blood flow to the lower spine and causes the degeneration of spinal discs.
